Poet, Dr Rachel Lehrman discusses 'Mother's in Remembrance" It is with the empathy and heart of a mother that I approach this coming Remembrance Day. There is nothing that could have prepared me for the intensity of motherhood-- the love; the connection; the feelings; the responsibility; the impulse to protect. I invite mothers everywhere to voice feelings, emotions, thoughts, reflections and experiences in regards to this day. It is my hope that we can connect as many mothers as possible through this page in the coming year- that we can share our personal experiences, thoughts, interpretations and reflections across all the many boundaries and situations that separate us. What do we -as protectors, as givers of life, as pillars, as victims, as women, as mothers and as individuals- uniquely have to offer or share in the spirit of Remembrance? This is not a political debate, or a place to voice political opinions. I ask that in creative, respectful and responsible ways-- words, wisdoms, thoughts, reflections, art, music, poetry-- we connect with, learn from and feel with another. And I ask as one mother to another, that we greet this page with a moment of shared silence- a moment in which our hearts and eyes are open to the past, present and future violences and injustices in this world. to join this discussion click here or paste this into the address bar:
