The Waste.Agency created an experimental shop in the City of London from October 2014 until February 2015, in an Ex-HMV, on Whittington Avenue next to Leadenhall Market, between London's newest skyscrappers, The Walkie-Talkie and The Cheesegrate.

 

The abstract undertaking was a distraction from the chain sandwich stores and supermarkets that have replaced many of the now extinct independent shops and family businesses that once occupied the area.

   

Goods on sale were an eclectic mixture of items made of discarded objects and from the surrounding environment, like dust. that often provided empathetic responses, promoted discussion and debate.

 

Talks, screenings and events were delivered by some by senior academics and established artists and performers.  Click to view events here.
